Anastasya Koshkin’s childhood was distributed across three cultural borders. Currently she serves as teaching assistant at University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee’s
music department. Ana studied Radio and Television Arts at Ryerson University and received her masters degree at Sint Lukas University in Brussels.
Anastasya Koshkin’s work focuses on writing, music, and interdisciplinary media. With continued fascination with the natural environment her childhood was
distributed among three cultural borders. Currently she serves as teaching assistant at University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee’s music department. Ana studied Radio
and Television Arts at Ryerson University. She received a ne arts masters degree at Sint-Lukas University in Brussels. Her work is developed in reference to
learning, and utilizing time-based media.
Description
Ana’s work focuses on music, writing, and cross-platform media. Her work within the study of music, ethnography, and nature, is based in encountered
surroundings and environments of nature. Her practice stands in relation to an environmental context, drawing from acoustic ecology, nature writing, and
ethnomusicology. She works with music and language, sensing her own heritage extend across from far away. Distant places become a subject and an inspiration for
her work. Maintaining a commitment to the tenets of conversation, she strives to consider nature and humanity within environmental literary and musical
discourse.
